The Para Military 2 is one of Spyderco’s most popular and iconic designs. It is therefore fitting that it should serve as a platform to showcase our proprietary blade steel—CPM SPY27. Developed in close cooperation with Crucible® Industries and exclusive to Spyderco, CPM SPY27 enhances the proven alloy formula of VG-10 stainless steel with niobium and nitrogen, additional carbon, molybdenum, and vanadium, and the many advantages of Crucible’s state-of-the- art particle metallurgy process. To further highlight this elite blade steel, this knife’s handle is capped with peel-ply-textured G-10 scales in a distinctive cobalt blue—one of the signature colors of our SPY27 family of knives.
